A highly motivated final year Occupational Therapy Student studying at the Australian Catholic University. I constantly strive for the best version of myself through my kind, supportive and attentive character. I am passionate about applying knowledge and clinical skills gained from recent placements and current studies to empower clients through delivery of exceptional strengths based and client centred care.
Developed a range of clinical skills whilst managing a small caseload of diverse clients across a range of wards. Independently prioritised caseload and applied clinical reasoning skills to promote positive patient outcomes. Gained competency in conducting initial assessments, functional assessments and cognitive assessments. Worked closely with members of MDTS to facilitate appropriate patient discharge planning.
Supported individuals aged 65+ in re-adjusting to their homes post-hospital stay during a 12-week community program. Collaborated with my supervisor to prescribe and set up equipment, conduct assessments, participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) case conferences, and provide appropriate recommendations whilst developing strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
Worked with a diverse range of consumers experiencing severe and varied mental health diagnoses. Under supervision, facilitated therapeutic group education sessions and led group-based recovery. Enhanced documentation skills, refined communication with a variety of consumer stakeholders, and developed a strong appreciation for the importance of therapeutic relationships.
Completed a 5 day practical experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, including developed communication skills with various stakeholders, undertook detailed documentation and detailed occupational analysis of a workplace injury.
Supported individuals with disabilities in recreational and social activities, fostering inclusion, community participation, and meaningful engagement. Developed strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in a supportive environment.
Worked alongside and supported vulnerable team members, fostering inclusion and positive working relationships. Developed strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A rotational experience shadowing my supervisor provided me with the opportunity to work on neurological, spinal and orthopaedic wards to gain experience and exposure to the role of Occupational Therapy.
