White card ( General Construction Induction card )
My aspiration to become a mechanic is due to my interest of how things work for my whole life, especially cars, trucks, and engines. I have to say I was always interested to learn how things go together and then come apart, repaired and reborn. I remember my interest really taking off because of the time I spent with my dad, a mechanic specialising in heavy vehicles. I learned a lot of valuable information around my dad when he would explain to me about a repair job or help him fix something. Watching him work and his knowledge and skills made me want to pursue something in the same direction.
I enjoy working with my hands, practical problem solving, and really enjoy the satisfaction of working to fix something that is broken and seeing the results immediately. A mechanic's position is more than just throwing tools and working with engines, it involves critical thought, being safe, teamwork, to help others get back on the road again. In summary, I want to be productive in my career, I want to learn, to stay fit, and ultimately I want to become as effective and confident in the workshop as I learned from my Dad. I feel like being a mechanic is a great opportunity.
