Having been trained in a specialised cancer hospital for over one year, I have gained much extra clinical knowledge in oncology field on top of the required knowledge to become a pharmacist. By repeatedly dispensing medications with complicated directions and schedule (e.g. steroids and oral chemotherapy tablets), I have developed skills to not miss any potential details that can cause medication misuse to the patients. Customer service has always been my priority during the practice, as throughout the whole treatment period, the pharmacy team serves each patient multiple times by supplying medications, providing counselling or looking after the patient in the ward if they experience any complications. I really enjoyed my intern year spent on practicing in the cancer hospital and I am grateful to become friends with so many patients already.
