My role as a cultural Leader at my service, I help to support staff, children and families to value and embrace diversity by celebrating special occasion in respectful, authentic and holistic ways,ensuring that each child's culture is represented with in the service. I am responsible for coaching and mentoring all staffs to successfully embed strategies that respect and celebrate cultural diversity within the service and local community with a particular focus on embedding Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander perspectives. I also had the opportunity to proactively connecting with local Elders and Aboriginal Community Members and share knowledge with staffs and children in the service. Early July 2023, I had another great opportunity to attend the REAIE conference in Melbourne . Learning and implementing the Aboriginal culture within the service is a great way for us people to show respect to the owners of the land we live on.

Another extra responsibility I take for my team at EAGLEBY KIDS ELC. My Cultural Leader role along with my Wing Leader role have given me experience and the opportunity to practice and enhance my leadership skills, as I have spend time forming connections and relationships with educators. I work closely with staffs that work on the Bambini Wing in our service. These staffs help to support and shape the lives of all children age 2-5 years old.

- I mentor and support new staff members who join our Eagleby family.

-I become a positive role model for new staff members, observing, reflecting and have an ongoing conversation to make sure that they feel safe and happy in their new working environment, whilst ensuring our philosophy and values are all in areas of program and practice .
