Nursing Philosophy

My philosophy of nursing: care for everyone at any time, patients, colleagues, and visitors. When I began nursing, I had a very narrow- and close-minded view of the definition of nursing. Although sometimes it was difficult but what is very rewarding is working in a rural Health Care setting with patients with many different scenarios walking through the hospital doors. I learned, I experienced, reflect and I cried with my patients, they shaped me into the nurse I am today. I read once that “Nursing isn’t only about the patients. It’s about learning about yourself as well”. I took on that advise and look at every patient of mine as an opportunity to grow in knowledge and strive to be the best nurse every day until the end.
