My role at Perth Commercial Gardeners includes hands-on responsibilities, alongside operational duties. I am very proud that the company has received 100% customer satisfaction ratings, with, at times, personal references to me. My day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Handling customer inquiries, on-site customer visits, quoting, job scheduling, texting courtesy messages, and general customer service.
• Working with both commercial and residential customers.
• Understanding and adhering to the company's Health, Safety, and Environment Plan. Completing daily vehicle pre-starts and Job Hazard Analysis.
• Completing gardening tasks to a very high standard, requiring organisation, hands on skills, time effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrating resilience, working in all types of environments and weather conditions.
• 100% attendance demonstrating reliability and dependability.
• Using problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair work equipment.

I took a break from my Uni studies to get hands on experience in an outside labour role. My role at Wespray developed:

• Resilience: the ability to work in all weathers for long hours.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Allowed me to travel, teaching me independence and responsibility.
• Importance of reliability: being on time and being there for your teammates.
• Willingness to work - I had 100% attendance, and I always volunteered to work outside contracted hours and on weekends when required.
• Willingness to learn.
• Problem solving—sometimes things do not go as planned, but the important thing is to work through it and solve the problem.

McDonalds is the most well known employer for students in Year 11 and 12. Most students would see it as a couple of extra dollars in their bank account, which I did, but I also saw it as a huge learning experience - my first job!

I excelled at working in a high pressure environment and achieved many commendations including promotion to Crew Trainer. My reliability and willingness to work would mean I was always contacted for shifts when they were available.

Key to this role was customer service, maintaining high standards of the product produced, and working within Health & Safety standards.

In addition, I was also asked to train new employees. I developed skills such as leading by example, being supportive and good communication skills.
