My expertise lies in combining creativity with technical skill to design and craft arrangements that delight and exceed client expectations. In this role, I perform a variety of tasks including:

• Client Consultation: Discuss client preferences to determine the desired style, budget, and delivery specifics for floral arrangements.
• Floral Design: Plan and create custom floral arrangements, utilizing in-depth knowledge of design principles and flower properties. Choose appropriate flowers and foliage or select from existing design templates.
• Arrangement Creation: Handcraft bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other floral items, skillfully trimming, shaping, and arranging with tools like trimmers, wire, pins, floral tape, and foam.
• Pricing & Wrapping: Finalize arrangements by wrapping and pricing them for delivery or purchase.
• Customer Service & Retail Support: Handle office and retail tasks, including managing financial records, assisting customers, answering phone inquiries, and selling giftware items. Process payments and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Visual Merchandising: Design and update in-store and window displays, ensuring the store’s image is enhanced and seasonal themes are reflected.
• Inventory Management: Unpack, organize, and display stock as it arrives, ensuring everything is properly accounted for.
• Store Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy, welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
• Customer Education: Provide expert advice on the care, maintenance, and handling of flowers, plants, and other products to ensure clients can enjoy their purchases for as long as possible.

I joined my mother’s business to lend a hand and quickly developed valuable skills in customer service, coffee preparation, and efficient operations. In this role, I gained hands-on experience in managing both front-of-house service and behind-the-scenes tasks. My responsibilities included:

• Customer Service: Provide detailed product information, including coffee blends and preparation methods, to enhance the customer experience.
• Beverage Preparation: Prepare a variety of hot and cold drinks, including coffee, espresso-based beverages, blended coffees, and teas.
• Menu Knowledge: Describe menu items and make recommendations based on customer preferences, ensuring a personalized experience.
• Coffee Preparation: Weigh, grind, and pack coffee beans, assisting customers with selection and ensuring quality.
• Billing and Payment Processing: Prepare customer bills, operate cash registers and adding machines, and efficiently handle payment transactions.
• Cleanliness & Maintenance: Scrub and polish counters, equipment, and serving areas to maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Regularly clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment.
• Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory, ensuring necessary supplies are stocked and ordering new items as needed.
• Product Promotion: Create signage to advertise daily specials, new products, or events to engage customers and boost sales.
• Food Handling: Wrap, label, and date food items for sale, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Inspect equipment for adherence to health and safety standards and perform necessary maintenance or cleaning to meet regulations.
