    • Enhanced laboratory efficiency by implementing new testing procedures and protocols.
    • Streamlined sample processing for faster turnaround times, resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
    • Managed and processed multiple Bull species up to 800 to 900 straws in one day during busy period.
    • Maintained high level of accuracy in test results by following strict quality control procedures. This is achieved by ensuring high purity and equal semen concentrations in each straws.
    • Trained junior technicians on laboratory techniques and safety protocols, enhancing overall team proficiency.
    • Conducted routine equipment maintenance such as straw printer, Minitube Uno and flow cytometers to ensure optimal performance and reducing downtime.
    • Implemented inventory management system to maintain optimal levels of supplies, preventing delays in testing processes.
    • Reduced errors in data entry by meticulously reviewing and validating information before submission.
    • Cleaned and sterilized tools and equipment to maximize purity of specimens.
    • Registered and prepared samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing and physical homogenization.

Laboratory Technician

Bureau Veritas

Additional Information

Member of Flinders Badminton Club (2017-2019).

Certification

  • Biosafety Training - (2019). Learned how to manage and handle biological samples such as microbial pathogens (bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi) and genetically modified organisms (plants, animal cells and microorganisms). Also, understood how they are regulated in Australia which involves risk management of these biological samples.

Accomplishments

  • Activation of P-Akt and P-Erk 1/2 by novel cone snail insulin's for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. This project was conducted to test the potential use of insulin's extracted from a few cone snails for the treatment of Type-1 diabetes. The results achieved were promising as cone snail insulin showed to be more efficient compared to the human insulin in the uptake of glucose from bloodstream into cells.

  • Isolating and Identifying Different Bacteria Species from Mixed Culture. This was achieved by using the streak plating technique of the mixed culture on different type of agar plates. Each agar plate has different type of nutrient compositions specific for each bacteria to grow. This allowed me to identify the type of bacteria present in the mixed culture.

  • Development of a biorefinery for the cultivation of Gracilaria secundata and the extraction of agar.

  • Investigating the Toxicity of Doxorubicin and Marine Bioproducts of HFVCE and HFBCE on human Colon Cancer Cell Line (HT 29) using assays of MTT and Alamar Blue and Transfection of HEK 293 cell line via Lipofection.

  • Understanding the Synergistic Effects of Plant RIP with Omega-3 PUFAs on cancer cells in vitro. This project was done to understand and observe the potency of combined treatment of plant protein (RIP) with Omega-3 and comparing it to singular treatments of RIP and Omega-3 towards breast cancer cell lines. Results showed that the combined treatment to be slightly more potent towards the cancer cells compared to the individual treatments. This outcomes gives an idea to potentially utilize combination therapy as a possible treatment for diseases.

  • Attended Horizon Leadership Summit 2017. This seminar thought me on ways to overcome fears and build confidence in order to be a good leader. Moreover, this seminar also thought me on how to communicate with others well and build network with people.
