Paediatric Medicine

• Duties included ward based role during day shifts working with wider Paediatric medical and nursing teams
• Night shift duties included caring for both Children's Ward in-patients and working in paediatric emergency department overnight; assessing, diagnosing and admitting children to Paediatric Ward with direct handovers to Paediatric Consultant of new admissions and ward.
• Responding to ward reviews, identifying paediatric deteriorations,and escalating as appropriate to senior medical officers.
• Confident in identifying and initiating Mandatory Reporting processes and making appropriate referrals, whilst maintaining patient and family support

Relief/RPA Virtual

• Telehealth experience working in an ED-akin Virtual Hospital; assessing patients remotely to identify deteriorations, managing non-urgent complaints and escalating to senior RPAV medical officers and Emergency Department AMOs where referral appropriate
• Proficient in remote access programs such as MIYA
• dispensation of electronic prescriptions

Cardiology

• Duties included night shifts covering CCU and Cardiology wards, responding to cardiac emergencies, and managing chronically unwell patients

Rehabilitative Medicine - Balmain Hospital

• Practiced highly inter-disciplinary team medicine, liaising extensively with allied health, nursing and medical professionals
• Co-Chaired weekly MDT meetings
• Experience with long-term care patients with complex social issues

Relief

• providing supplementary support to various medical and surgical teams as required
• providing after-hours and overnight medical care to in-patients during night shifts, covering multiple wards in tertiary centre
• Responding to CERS, ICU-Assists and MET calls + escalating as appropriate

Emergency Medicine

• Gained assessment, diagnostic and procedural experience working in a tertiary emergency facility, including involvement in high-acuity and complex cases
• Conferred with specialists to obtain expertise on patient conditions and referred individuals in need of additional care.

Melanoma/Oncology Surgery

• Duties included both surgical and clinic duties, developing skills in breaking bad news to patients whilst discussing and explaining difficult oncological diagnoses

Obstetrics & Gynaecology

• Confident in first-assisting both emergency and elective caesarean-sections
• Managed and enacted public health requirements and administrative needs for complex and high-care obstetric patients affected by Covid-19.
• Confident in gynaecological and obstetric assessments; including PV Speculum/Vaginal examinations
