Jack Thompson

In 2023 I completed two university placements at Nambour State Collage as part of my bachelor of counselling degree, totalling a combined four hundred and sixty one hours of agency work as well as forty four direct client hours accumulated over the course of the year. During both placements I not only conducted one on one sessions with clients but also assisted in facilitating various mantel health and wellbeing programs run by the school such as rock and water, life skills, farm feed, rage and the year six transition program.

During my placement I also able to develop mature in my consoling skills. In addition to successfully completing my placements I have also successful completed every counselling unit of my bachelors degree with only one non counselling related elective remaining which will be completed by mid 2024.

Since early 2019 I have been a volunteer youth worker at Immanuel Lutheran Church. During my time there I have worked with children ranging from year three to year twelve. I have assisted in designing, ruining and maintaining group programs catering to various age levels, ranging from religious to secular, as well as assisting in the coordination and mentoring of junior youth leaders.

I am currently employed by my family's business to maintain a former factory that is now used for storage purposes. I have also conducted end of finical year stock take and data entry jobs.
