Muhammad Asyraf Bin Zulkipli

I'm a a Bruneian Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy student at Adelaide University, currently completing the Clinical Trauma Pathway of my course. I'm driven by the belief that meaningful change in mental health requires both rigorous clinical practice and systemic advocacy.

My work is anchored in a deep commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural safety, particularly for marginalised populations navigating complex structural challenges.

My clinical approach is grounded in a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Narrative Therapy, CBT, ACT, and Logotherapy. Through my placement experiences, which range from crisis support for homeless men and those navigating AOD presentations, to grief and trauma work, I have developed a steadfast focus on bridging the gap between systemic pressures and individual continuity of care.

Beyond the clinic, I am a passionate advocate for community mental health. A cornerstone of my experience was my internship with Orygen, where I engaged directly with stakeholders to conceptualize Brunei's first-ever youth mental health policy lab, in which I served both administrative and facilitator roles. This experience reinforced my passion for public speaking and facilitating cross-cultural dialogue, connecting people to build bridges and foster environments where everyone, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, feels seen and safe.

As I approach graduation in December 2026, I am actively seeking roles that sit at the intersection of clinical practice and advocacy. I am eager to contribute to community mental health settings, government policy initiatives, and/or organizations that prioritize equitable access to care.

I am always happy to connect with fellow practitioners, advocates, and leaders interested in the future of community mental health, trauma-informed systems, and the intersection of clinical care and public policy.

• Spearheaded all facets of project execution, from initial program conceptualization and proposal creation to meticulous task delegation.
• Cultivated and refined a diverse skill set, encompassing the development of confidence, proficient public speaking abilities, and the mastery of effective leadership competencies through successful project leadership.

Youth Series Support Volunteer for Wira Camp 2023, Global Awareness Impact Alliance (GAIA)

• Directed comprehensive behind-the-scenes support, overseeing administrative tasks, procurement of vital resources, and facilitating seamless communication between the organization and guest speakers.
• Assumed a leadership role as camp facilitator for a dynamic cohort of 20+ students from underprivileged backgrounds, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment throughout the camp experience.
