I started Pet Sitting as way to gain experience with all different animals and I now do it very often as it has become a passion of mine. I enjoy being able to help others while also ensuring the animals I look after are happy and comfortable whilst their owner is away. I have looked after animals including cats, dogs and rabbits currently.

Things I do whilst Pet Sitting include:

• Prepared food and water following instructions from pet owners.
• Gave animals proper attention to promote secure environment in owner's absence.
• Exercised animals regularly with walks and rigorous play activities.
• Maintained a clean and safe environment for pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being at all times.
• Communicated professionally with pet owners via phone, email, and text.
• Built trust with clients by consistently demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail in all aspects of pet care provision.

This is my current work placement which I am at whilst completing my Cert III in Animal Care Services until the end of 2024.

I will be unable to stay at this Vet Clinic as they are having renovations next year and are therefore unable to take me on.

I currently go there once a week and complete tasks and skills such as:

• Washing, drying and putting away all towels, blankets etc
• Cleaning and setting up cages as well as cleaning anything else in the clinic
• Cleaning and setting up for surgery
• Preparing food and water for patient
• Hold for catheter placement or injections as well as catheter removal
• Write up anaesthetic forms as well as monitor and fill out anaesthetic forms during surgery
• Check the temperature of a patient
• Trim nails
• Accurately check heart rate with stethoscope
• Assist in the restraint of patients
• Connect patient to IV fluids

• Preparing and cooking food, cleaning, washing dishes, taking orders and serving customers.

• Covid Check-in supervision, On-floor customer assistance, Click-and-collect preparation.
