Assisting the Ipswich Rehoming Manager and Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Ipswich Rehoming Centre. Progressing animals through the facility efficiently and effectively to maximise the welfare of the animals in AWLQ’s care. Ensuring procedures are followed and implemented, including WHS. Working closely within the team to create a harmonious work environment, and leading a team of staff and volunteers.
Ensuring all pets boarding with the facility were cleaned, medicated, exercised and fed to the highest animal husbandry standard. Liaised with clients in regard to bookings, their pets, and ensuring they received an exceptional customer service experience. Operating booking systems, answering telephones and responding to emails.
Providing exceptional levels of care to animals including general husbandry, dietary requirements and enrichment. Assisting in animal health examinations and administering routine veterinary preventative treatments and medications. Assisting in admission, care and reclaim of domestic animals straying in the community on behalf of the Ipswich Shire Council. Ensuring high standards of shelter cleanliness/hygiene. Providing training and behaviour modification for animals in care using positive, reward-based techniques.
