During my 3 month contract my tasks were to find personal carers and registered nurses for their partnered residential facilities across the whole of Australia. We would recruit through job adverts and talent searches through metrics like seek & Fast track 360.

Firstly, I would prescreen a candidate via phone call and if they had the specific requirements we were looking for I would progress them to a formal interview with myself via a team video call. If successful from interview I would then progress them to our onboarding and compliance where they would also need to complete online training modules.

At blue care I had an initial 3 month contract which was extended by 2 months. I worked under 5 senior recruitment consultants, my task was to find personal carers, registered nurses, hospitality officers & chefs for the 40 plus residential aged care facilities blue care operated across the whole of Queensland.


Blue Care is a well known and respected non for profit organisation therefore there was a lot of candidates who would apply for perm and casual positions, once I had prescreened and deemed the candidate suitable for the organisation I would book them to interview with blue cares interview panel and if successful they would progress to the onboarding and compliance team.

Trade Direct Insurance Ltd is part of the 'Kelleher Insurance Group' I moved to Trade Direct Insurance to focus on a sales role.

Key performance requirements include a monthly target of £30,000 GWP (gross written premium) The commission element that we make from the sales must be above £8000. A conversion rate of 60% must be achieved as well as a minimum of five referrals and cross sales.

I received leads/enquiries from marketing which need to be qualified as well as inbound calls, I would then advise on the best solution for the prospect.

I would broker the following policies between the underwriters and clients: Public Liability, structure warranties, commercial combined policies, personal accident & sickness, office and contents cover & landlords' insurance.

As part of the brokering process I work closely with many global insurance companies which include; Zurich, Axa, Allianz, Aviva.

Trade Direct Insurance encouraged me to grow in confidence, expanded my knowledge of sale cycles and increased my determination to close sales.

I completed a three-stage training programme which consisted of Bronze, Silver and Gold levels to gain more knowledge about the company, customer service, additional knowledge on the products we sell and skills in utilising the in-house developed sales process.

My hard work paid off and I was promoted to Area Business Manager, I was assigned a territory by splitting the UK in half and was given an annual quota and set monthly targets.
