I have been dedicated to caring for a totally and permanently incapacitated veteran for the past 6 years. 

He has struggled with various conditions and substance abuse issues, but I have been there for him every step of the way.

While I cannot officially list this as my professional work since he is family, I have taken on the responsibility of caring for him, providing him with the necessary support on a daily basis.

Thanks to my efforts, he has been sober for the past 4 years and is now doing much better.

Although personal experiences may not always be recognized, I believe that my time spent caring for my family member has equipped me with valuable skills and a deep sense of empathy. 

This is why am currently pursuing opportunities in community service, as I feel that this will allow me to gain the qualifications needed to help others in similar situations. Just as I have made a positive impact on my family member's life, I hope to do the same for others in need.
