Jano Coetzee

I am a well organised and passionate teacher eager to make a difference in the performance and culture of a classroom and school. I have successfully completed all my practical experiences at a variety of schools and year levels and have recently completed 5 years of full-time teaching in year 5 and 6 classrooms at Brisbane Boys' College. I have gained the required skills to adapt my teaching style to suit the needs of diverse groups of students. I have a strong passion for teaching and have demonstrated an ability to connect to students in a manner which gives them the best chance for success both inside and outside the classroom. I have a strong desire to learn from my mistakes and my successes, and to give myself and the students the best opportunity to achieve success, growth and satisfaction.

• Participated in Cricket (1st XI), Rugby (2nd XV), Football, Basketball, AFL and Athletics at Brisbane Boys' College
• Attended the Darren Lehman Cricket Academy in Adelaide (2012-2013)
• Played at two U19 Cricket World Cups (2012 and 2014)
• Played 1st Grade Cricket for the University of Queensland Cricket Club for 9 years and captained for 2 years

• Completed the 'BBC Leadership and Management' Program in 2023
• Worked cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and parents to help students reach learning objectives
• Incorporated multiple types of teaching strategies into classroom
• Communicated frequently with parents, students, and faculty to provide feedback and discuss instructional strategies
• Conducted evaluations to measure performance and progress of students, providing guidance for areas requiring improvement
• Coordinated the Junior School Math Competitions in 2021 and 2022
