I’ve worn quite a few different hats over the years, project support, recruitment, operations, business development... But, the common thread running through every role has been the deep satisfaction I get from making a positive impact on people’s lives. Whether it’s helping someone land a meaningful job, coaching kids, or guiding a client through a tricky process, I’ve always been driven by connection and purpose.
Over the past five years, working closely with kids through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been a game changer. It’s where I’ve seen firsthand the power of patience, guidance, and support in helping young people grow. That experience has led me to make a conscious career pivot toward youth support work, where I can channel my energy, empathy, and lived experience into something that feels genuinely meaningful.
I have been coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for children aged 5–13 since 2020; however, I have only recently moved to Shape Jiu Jitsu as of this year. Utilising the sport to develop discipline, confidence, and resilience. This part-time passion role blends physical coaching with mentorship, creating a safe and engaging environment for kids to grow emotionally, socially, and physically.
