I have been coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for children aged 5–13 since 2020; however, I have only recently moved to Shape Jiu Jitsu as of this year. Utilising the sport to develop discipline, confidence, and resilience. This part-time passion role blends physical coaching with mentorship, creating a safe and engaging environment for kids to grow emotionally, socially, and physically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and run age-appropriate classes focused on skill-building and personal development.
• Deliver tailored, person-centered coaching for neurodiverse children, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive space that encourages teamwork, respect, and self-regulation.
• Act as a mentor and role model, promoting values such as perseverance, and accountability.
• Communicate clearly with parents and staff to ensure individual needs are supported.

As a Talent Acquisition Sourcer, I support national Defence and Federal Government recruitment efforts within SYSTRA ANZ’s Security & Technology Solutions branch, operating under the Team Downer MSP and Defence Support Services panels. I work closely with internal stakeholders and partner organisations to develop and execute sourcing strategies that meet complex project and program needs across Defence and APS clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with hiring managers and Talent Partners to define role needs and ideal candidate profiles.
• Identify, engage, and build talent pipelines for niche technical and non-technical roles across various sectors.
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including screening, scheduling, stakeholder communication, and compliance.
• Maintain accurate candidate records, ensuring compliance with governance, WHS, and diversity policies.
• Provide strategic advice on sourcing challenges and labour market trends to internal stakeholders.

Provide administrative and coordination support within the Technology Branch, ensuring efficient delivery of branch-wide services and stakeholder-facing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and draft documentation to support executive-level decision-making and communication.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to support project planning, reporting, and resource coordination activities.
• Assist with procurement and vendor engagement processes, ensuring adherence to internal policy and compliance requirements.
• Maintain and update records, trackers, and registers across business functions including finance, staffing, and workforce capability.
• Support delivery of operational services by streamlining administrative workflows and fostering positive stakeholder relationships.

Across more than 15 years, I’ve built a career rooted in people-focused work. Spanning across recruitment, operations, business development, and hospitality. Each role, whether in a corporate office or customer-facing environment, has deepened my skills in communication, stakeholder care, and real-world problem solve. Most importantly, they’ve all reinforced the sense of fulfillment I get from helping others thrive. These experiences have laid the groundwork for my transition into youth support work.
