This Leadership over a long period of time has built my capability in leading volunteers and staff alike, to achieve the goals of the NSW Rural Fire Service, in providing such a vital service to the people of NSW. This capability is still growing as am I as a Leader in the Emergency Service Environment.
  • I am an accomplished, experienced, highly qualified professional in the Emergency Service and Government sectors.
  • I believe I exemplify the highest level of values and ethics that are displayed in the decisions I make, the work I do and the behaviour I display to others. I have been tested many times over my career and have always followed my values, often making decisions that have been unpopular with some, but have been made on the basis of the right thing to do from a place of high integrity.

Director Area Operations, Northern

In this role I have the overall Leadership of the four Rural Fire Service Area Commands, in the Northern portion of NSW.

Initially I commenced in an acting capacity before gaining the role on a permanent basis.

  • Managed and participated in numerous Service-wide projects and reviews.
  • Developed high-performing teams by providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Enhanced team collaboration through regular communication, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
  • Established a culture of continuous improvement by fostering open communication channels and empowering members to voice their ideas.
  • Strengthened internal controls by reviewing existing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Area Commander - Hunter
