Jessica Guerrera

I am a third year Mechanical Engineering student seeking an industrial placement with an inclusive team that strives for success, such as Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team. I am eager to immerse myself in a team of determined people, combining my collaborative skills, creativity and passion for problem solving and design, with my love for racing, to continue Mercedes’ journey of success.

Leadership & Effective communication

Demonstrated strong-minded leadership with a growth mindset as a house captain and senior house prefect in my senior years of high school. I empowered my peers, acting as a voice and communicating the opinions of my cohort to authoritative figures. 

Ability to multitask

Acquired the ability to multitask and perform under pressure attending to multiple customers with varying needs at once. I ensure that all customers are satisfied whilst working efficiently, leading to making several high value sales.

Resilience & adaptability

Working with children as both a fitness coach and dance teacher has enhanced my resilience and my ability to adapt to unforeseen situations. In dealing with young children (in groups of 15-30+), I must be resilient as disciplining them is difficult at times, by adapting my sessions on the spot to keep them consistently engaged.

Teamwork & Problem solving

Displayed crucial problem-solving skills participating in the University of Newcastle’s Science and Engineering Challenge several times. This was a group challenge, and thus I coordinated effectively with my team members to produce the best solutions to unseen challenges, ultimately placing first in the competition.
