• My current role is a Senior Mail Officer. Duties I currently perform are:
• Drive a truck picking up freight and mail in airline containers and steel cages from freight forwarders based on Brisbane airport and deliver to 3 facilities.
• Using a forklift and roller system, I load airline containers with mail and freight in preparation for overseas despatch. I deliver these units to freight forwarders for uplift.
• For 15 years I worked as an Airport co-ordinator based at Australian Air Express, which evolved into Air Services within Australia Post based at Qantas Freight Facilities on Brisbane Airport. I relieve in this position when needed. Responsibilities of this role are :
• Creating reports for relevant stakeholders, reconciling mail and freight received, liaising with Qantas staff re uplift and contingencies if U/S aircraft or offloads occur, liaise with transport both internal and external of Australia Post, report missing or damaged mail and freight, advise Star Track if there are next flights and premium products to be collected.
• I also work within the facility on Brisbane airport scanning articles into bags and airline units for despatch. Started as a Mail Officer, after 1 year was promoted to Senior Mail officer (leading hand), and Airport Co-.
• Due to work commitments and family commitments colliding I stepped back from Shift Manager to the Senior Mail officer role which is my current role.

I have worked various jobs prior to Australia Post.

I worked in shearing sheds for 7 years in various positions :.... shearing, wool pressing, wool classer and Shed Boss.

I worked for Richter Drilling for 18 months in headquarters store facility and relief Field Administrator, conducting daily logs including parts and tools used, requisitioning replacement parts, drilling logs, stock taking, daily 2 way radio reports to either Adelaide or Brisbane depending on the site of drilling, and first aid.

I also worked for Queensland cotton at various times in Cecil Plains and helped in the construction of the new Ginnery at Dalby and then for a further 2 seasons.

I have worked on farms driving different machinery, cotton pickers, headers, dozers etc as fill in roles when not in the shearing sheds.
