20 years service in Melbourne CBD acknowledged by lord Mayor

I opened the Journal Cafe in 2004 in Flinders Lane, Melbourne . We started serving espresso and a small quality driven food menu.

The cafe grew into a home away from home for locals, workers, travellers and regulars who became family. Every day I've had the pleasure of making coffees, sharing conversations and building genuine connections with people of all walks of life.

I've always believed that hospitality is more about service; it's about warmth, consistency and making people feel welcomed the moment they walk through the door. For 2 decades I've taken pride in creating that atmosphere: the perfect coffee, a friendly chat, and a space where everyone feels seen and valued.

Looking back the real joy hasn't just been in the coffees I have poured, but in the relationships formed, the stories shared, and the community built - one cup at a time.
