My family have managed a Jesters Pies store for many years, which I have worked in from a very young age. This has given me the majority of vital customer service experience and I have gained skills such as:

  • Greeting customers promptly and taking orders to keep flow of traffic moving.
  • Cleaning and operating a business in retail
  • Using a till and POS system, as well as taking cash and Eftpos payments
  • How to work well in a fast paced environment and under pressure
  • Ordering for deliveries, stocktake, training new staff members and organising the store.

Food and Beverage Attendant

My main job position was in the fine-dining Ishka Restaurant, although I also worked behind the bar and in the Akoya Function Room. I often dealt with large groups of people and prided myself in making sure all customers had a good experience. Some skills I gained from The Breakwater include

  • Waitressing, Bartending, drink and table service
  • Dealing with intoxicated patrons and responding appropriately
  • Organising kitchen dockets and making sure the orders were being sent to the correct tables
  • Resetting tables, cleaning and operating a restaurant and bar
  • Preparing and organising for large events

Skills

  • Positive Customer feedback: Being quick and attentive whilst treating all customers with a kind attitude

  • Product Recommendations: Having in depth product knowledge on all saleable items
  • Hygiene Standards: Maintaining the stores cleanliness throughout the day and following hygiene guidelines
