Having started with the Department of Transport and Planning in 2019 with Sprayline Road Services where I had the previous role of supervising a Road Maintenance Crew, I stepped into a secondment as a Surveillance Manager in the Maintenance Projects teams which transitioned into a similar but permanent role as the External Works Compliance officer, I have also acted as the Team Leader of External Works on multiple occasions throughout this period.

• Undertaking Surveillance of Construction practice, ensuring compliance by exercising knowledge of relevant Department and Austroads standards.
• Assisting with project management of External Works projects relevant to the Departments assets, reviewing construction plans and other relevant documentation, ensuring compliance of projects of which assets will be inherited by the Department, at times managing upwards of twenty projects.
• Communicating and negotiating with External parties and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Exercising knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Traffic Management Guidelines to maintain a good quality of construction practice.
• Undertaking administration of projects to align with the Departments standards and processes.
• Undertaking emergency management duties after hours on a rotating roster.

• Gained valuable knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, completing regular on site risk assessments and identifying hazards in high risk environments, making decisions and putting controls in place.
• Gained Valuable Leadership skills being responsible for a crew of 6 workers, ensuring efficient use of resources as well as ensuring the wellbeing of employees.
• Developed management skills, this included during emergency's and in high pressure environments, I was required to respond to such events in a safe and timely manner whilst ensuring the safety of staff and members of the public.
• Gained knowledge of DTP and Austroads standard requirements for construction and maintenance activities.

• Contributed to the construction team''s positive work culture by maintaining a strong work ethic, fostering open communication, and offering assistance whenever needed.
• Gained proficiency in various construction tools and machinery for optimal performance on the job site.
• Gained ability to read construction plans and drawings and implement them on site.
• Increased understanding of civil construction tasks such as setting heights, correct use of materials, drainage functions.
• Assisted in the successful completion of large-scale civil projects including roadways.

• Used proper PPE and safety protocols for personal health and safety of other staff.
• Sanded and removed blemishes, dents and other imperfections on painting surfaces.
• Cleaned and prepared surfaces for paint application with exacting accuracy.
• Maintained knowledge of equipment necessary to complete jobs, acquiring new skills and techniques.

• Greeted customers, helped locate merchandise, and suggested suitable options.
• Replenished sales floor merchandise and organized shelves, racks, and bins for optimal appearance.
• Developed strong communication skills when collaborating with fellow employees or assisting customers with inquiries or concerns.
