Work History

"Taste of Research" Scholarship Project

UNSW
12.2023 - Current

Supervised by Dr. Vidhyasaharan Sethu, Associate Professor Beena Ahmed, Dr Sirojan Tharmakulasingam.

Abstract: Apply the AL/ML method to automatically identify and segment coronary artery from CTCA images. Explore the methods to automatically infer the blockage in the vessel.

  • Use nnUnet combined with a pre-trained vascular model to train a coronary artery segmentation model
  • Use python code to reproduce some image processing technique on 3D CT image such as curve plannar reconstruction on vessel, lung small vessels removal.
  • Explored a fully automated workflow from coronary artery segmentation to vascular stenosis analysis

Intern

UNSW HCI Lab
09.2022 - 12.2022

Worked with a PHD student, assist in implementing some hardware-related implementations in paper.

Used Raspberry Pi to get the image generated from the AI model (stable diffusion) and then drive the LED matrix for display. Exploring the interaction between generated content and people.

Leant some image processing technique like affine transformation.

Intern

Guangdong Yousuan Technology Co., Ltd.
05.2021 - 09.2021
  • Project development: Annotation of the text of the Quran. Combined with YOLOv5 to implement the text region recognition and segmentation.
  • Technical skill development: Learn about legal web scraping. Software project handover process. Use of object detection model.

Honour Thesis: Edge Device for Monitoring Bird Species, UNSW

Supervised by Professor Beena Ahmed, co-superviosr Dr Sirojan Tharmakulasingam, Assessor Eliathamby Ambikairajah

Sep 2024 - Present

Sydney, Australia

Abstract: The goal of this project is to realize an automated recording unit capable of obtaining high-quality bird acoustic data in edge environments and automatically filtering segments without bird sounds

  • Spectral analysis of different soundscapes, birdsong, and noise using MATLAB
  • Designed a PCB hardware that integrates various common peripherals such as SD card, GPS, temperature sensor, solar and battery management etc.
  • Multitasking management on MCU with FreeRTOS and implement DSP algorithms such as DOA and beamforming for enhance far field voice.
  • Refine proficiency in signal processing, machine learning, embedded programming and data analysis through interdisciplinary work

"Taste of Research" Scholarship Project: Automatic Coronary Artery Blockage Identification, UNSW

Supervised by Dr. Vidhyasaharan Sethu, Associate Professor Beena Ahmed, Dr Sirojan Tharmakulasingam.

November 2023 - Sep 2024

Sydney, Australia

Abstract: This project proposes a fully automated coronary artery obstruction identification and analysis process

  • Developed a segmentation model for segmenting coronary arteries for CTA samples. Understand and implemented 3d visualization of blood vessels, centreline extraction, and multi-planar reconstruction techniques.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively in the fast-paced laboratory environment and maintain up-to-date research records
  • Deepening expertise in signal and data processing.
  • Won the second prize of the 2024 Taste of Research Poster Showcase’s Best Poster competition.
