I have a keen interest in social policy, and I am seeking a new opportunity to take on further responsibility in the public service by helping to shape significant social reform in a critical and nationally important topic.

  • This role involved implementation and evaluation of postvention under the National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement Bilateral Schedules
  • This involved working alongside StandBy to deliver the StandBy Support after Suicide Program, engaging with state and territory representatives across the Department as part of the National Agreement Bilateral Schedules, and working with Finance Business partners to support complex financial administration on postvention.

  • I was responsible for research on key suicide prevention issues, which were incorporated into the Prime Ministers Advisers Interim Advice and Final Advice Reports on suicide prevention
  • This role also involved the management of the Taskforce Expert Advisory Group (EAG)
  • I drafted recommendations to government, which involved engagement and input from Commonwealth portfolios, state and territory government, local government, primary health networks, peak bodies and the EAG
  • This role also involved the supervision of a gradate.

  • Some of the key activities liaising with key stakeholders on the Expert Advisory panel, writing the Mission Consultation Plan and Misson Consultation Final Report, and Grant Opportunity Guidelines for the Misson.

  • As part of the Research Excellence Branch (REB), I worked in the Research Evaluation Team that manages the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) and the Engagement and Impact (EI) evaluations
  • Key tasks included producing the approach to impact narrative for the National Report for EI analysing the ANZSRC consultation submissions for the review of the Fields of Research (FoR) codes for all Australian institutes and universities, in which I drew conclusions on the necessary future changes to the ANZSRC codes.
