The State Residential Manager is a dynamic, multifaceted role combining sales leadership, showroom management, and business development. The primary focus is to grow the client base, increase sales across the Tait Residential Sales (Trade and Retail) Channel, and build strong relationships with key trade clients in the Architecture & Design industry.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive In-Store Growth: Proactively grow the in-store customer base by generating leads and converting them into sales opportunities.
  • Residential Database Management: Oversee the residential database and curate a calendar of activations/events tailored to engage crucial retail/trade clients effectively by following the marketing calendar.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Collaborate with the Sales Manager to lead the Melbourne showroom sales team, ensuring optimal sales performance and exceptional customer experience. Manage and support the Residential Sales team through training, mentoring, and rostering.
  • End-to-End Sales Process Management: Manage the complete sales process, ensure thorough administration and documentation, use the Odoo platform to create sales reports and CRM cards, and meticulously track leads to order. Ensuring the residential sales team follows the process and implements training when required.
  • Showroom Management: Partner with the Creative Director to uphold impeccable showroom standards, visual merchandising, and general showroom upkeep. Put in place a process to ensure that all the tasks related to the maintenance of the showroom are taken care of equally within the team.
  • Client Engagement and Account Management: Manage with the team, Residential Architecture & Design accounts, daily and ensure CRM database updates reflect opportunity/sale progress
  • Client Growth Strategies: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan for new and existing clients, incorporating key personal contact details, entertainment opportunities, and target objectives.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Achieve or exceed set sales targets and KPIs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Showroom Sales for the residential and trade sector, in accordance with a performance-based sales target.
  • Achieve or better, set sales targets and KPI's.
  • Consulting with Trade and Residential clients from concept and quotation stage through to final handover.
  • Preparation of client presentations, including sample selections, layouts and mood boards.
  • Management of ongoing schedule of presentations to new and existing residential and trade clients, with a view to increasing brand exposure and sales.
  • Maintaining the CRM database with ongoing updates for opportunity/sale progress, through to order confirmation and delivery.
  • Using reporting capabilities within CRM to plan and focus client growth strategies and identify weak points.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain a customer development plan for new and existing clients, including key personal contact details, entertainment opportunities and target objectives.
  • Maintain the showroom to brand standards.
  • Provide detailed and accurate monthly sales reports including new leads, quotation pipeline, and sales achievements, alongside industry knowledge - reporting on current industry behaviours and market forecasts, directions for sales growth, contact activity and product feedback.

Duties | Responsibilities

  • I am creative and design aware and work closely with Tait's premium retails and design clients to interpret their brief and propose products to fulfill their design intent.
  • In the day to day running of the showroom I was responsible for merchandising and ensuring store displays are maintained to impeccable standard.
  • In this role I was also required to manage training, rostering and mentoring of casual sales staff.
