With nearly 2 years experience in Drill and Blast i am confident i can be a strong member of your company. I have just over 1 years blast crew experience and nearly 1 year blast hole drilling on DP1500i's so i have a good understanding of open cut mining procedures. I'm very reliable, analytically minded and a fast learner, I can safely operate an I.T Loader for stemming shots and make use of other attachments to help around site. I keep fit and am ERT trained with basic medic skills incase of any emergencies on site. Being multi skilled i enjoy my work with a great attitude towards my day to day tasks. Blast Hole Driller - Sandvik Pantera DP1500i

  • Pre-start rigs correctly, Identifying and recording any faults / damage. Topping up rock or hydraulic oils etc.
  • Reading drill pattern designs using correct drill bits for batters, buffers, angled holes, infills and production. GPS and Non GPS rigs.
  • Monitored drill bit performance to adjust accordingly for optimal results of the rig and resharpening capabilities.
  • Drilling in challenging grounds of broken blue rock for up to 2-3 metres, being mindful and patient to build a nice collar for blast crew to load comfortably without leads potentially getting bridged.
  • Collar piping up to 3 metres in wet ground to get holes to stand.
  • Documenting my day / night shift by the hour, recording daily tasks of the rig, holes numbers, metres and breakdowns etc.
  • Safely tramming from one pit to another using positive communications in open pit environments.
  • Safely drop rods and reload into the carousel with correct PPE gear.
  • Prioritizing a tidy, well maintained rig for my cross shift.

  • Offside Shotfirer, assisting in interim checks at the Magazine learning how to allocate correct amount of explosives for priming shots.
  • Priming dry and wet holes correctly adhering to company procedures, recording double primers etc to Shotfirer.
  • Loading holes with ANFO from the MPU to correct stem heights, making sure each hole gets the correct amount for accurate blasting.
  • Can safely operate lever and joystick front end loaders, able to stem shots and use multiple attachments with the I.T for on site duties.
  • Tie in shots, walking shots ensuring all holes are tied in as per the blast plan tie-in design.
  • Blast guard duties, identifying all outgoing traffic with the blast controller to lock and securing incoming traffic before blasting.
