This is a warehouse with heavily settled (100 mm - 600 mm) and tilted steel columns resulted from a design error. The main challenge was to restore the warehouse without discontinuing storage facilities already available in the premise. Conducted structural assessment, analysed and identified required strengthening and restoration procedure. Prepared report which included design and restoration guidelines. Supervised and provided technical instructions to ensure health and safety which the most critical aspect in this project. Managed and coordinated to minimize project cost variations beyond the engineering estimate during construction phase.
This is a main yard which was constructed on peat soil and provided storage facilities for export and import cargo. The main challenge was to restore this heavily settled yard due to construction and design error, without obstructing daily vehicle movements and storage facilities in the business.
