LACHLAN MOORE

Essendon,Vic

Summary

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Environment Protection Officer position at the Environment Protection Authority Victoria.

With a strong operational background and a passion for environmental care, I am eager to transition from my current office-based role into a field-based position where I can actively contribute to protecting Victoria’s environment.

Having lived in the Canadian Rockies, I developed a deep connection to nature, which has fueled my desire to pursue a career that makes a meaningful impact on our environment. My experience managing safety and compliance protocols as an Operations Manager has equipped me with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a broader team to meet objectives efficiently.

I thrive in roles that demand both attention to detail and a proactive approach—qualities that I know are critical in regulatory operations.

I am particularly excited about this role because it offers the opportunity to step out of the corporate environment and take a hands-on approach to environmental protection. I am eager to work closely with local governments, duty holders, and communities to drive public health and environmental outcomes, as well as to take on the challenge of monitoring compliance and enforcing regulatory actions. My operational experience has ingrained in me the importance of sound systems and procedures, ensuring high standards of accountability and ethics.

While I may not have direct experience in environmental regulation, I am confident that my strong operational skills, attention to detail, and passion for sustainable outcomes will enable me to quickly adapt to the role. I am excited about the on-the-job training offered by EPA Victoria and am committed to completing any necessary qualifications, such as Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to EPA’s mission of preventing pollution and ensuring a sustainable future for Victoria.

Sincerely,
Lachlan Moore
