Key Responsibilities include assisting Midwifery Managers to promote comprehensive maternity care and cohesive patient flow, mentoring junior staff, communicating with members of the multidisciplinary team.
Working across all areas of Maternity Care (including Antenatal clinic, Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Birth Suite, Maternity Ward and Extended Pregnancy Care) in a tertiary Hospital.
Responsibilities including care of premature or otherwise unwell neonates.
Graduate rotation in a busy General Medical ward.
- Peripheral Intravenous Cannula (PIVC) insertion.
- Bishops Score, Artificial Rupture of Membranes, Application of Fetal Scalp Electrode.
- Speculum Examination.
- Level 3 FSEP qualification in 2019-2024.
- Neonatal resuscitation & adult BLS.
- Computer skills, including IPM, Bossnet and BOS.
- PROMPT sessions (2018-2024).
- Preceptor Course (2018 & 2021 at Monash Health).
- SCAM (Standing Orders for Midwives).
- Newborn discharge examination.
- Cervical ripening balloon insertion.
