  • In each school, I created my own coursework for my students, including PPTs, worksheets, homework, activities, quizzes, and tests. I created lesson plans and taught daily using CLIL, communicative language learning techniques, Kagan structures, and a variety of other teaching methods. I taught a variety of English learner levels, from first-day English learners to those in their fifth and sixth years of learning English. Some of the highlights of my teaching career: in my time at MapleBear, I followed the Canadian curriculum and methods of teaching. At PSA, I worked with high- and low-level students, covering conversational basics to writing academic essays. At Maewon Elementary School, I worked with my teams in reading and writing to adhere our English learner curriculum to the US Common Core standards and base it more fully on group- and student-centered learning. I also worked with my team to adapt our lessons during COVID to accommodate fully online, hybrid, and in-class teaching sessions. At DUELI, I immersed myself in teaching adults who were preparing to use English both as a way to interact more authentically with Australian culture and as a gateway to academic study in Australia.
