As a newly graduated Humanitarian Aid student at Charles Darwin University, I am committed to making a positive impact on people's lives. Currently, I am a volunteer with the Red Cross, actively assisting teams in supporting Indigenous communities in Darwin. Additionally, I have hands-on experience as a personal carer, providing assistance to my family member who has recently received critical surgery, cancer treatment and occupational physiotherapy.   • Being a Carer and Translator for a family member with Cancer treatment.
  • Supporting the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, aftercare, and physiotherapy for brother-in-law as English is his second language.
  • Ensuring a clear understanding of surgeries, procedures, radiology, scans, chemotherapy, and physiotherapy.
  • Liaising with Surgeons, Oncologists, Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Cancer Care Coordinators to ensure he understood all processes and risks and was well informed to be able to provide informed consent.
  • Tracking and noting any issues in treatment and communicating these clearly to relevant medical professionals. This includes pain management, side effects, and medications.
