A Pediatric Occupational Therapist, passionate and committed to helping the children to thrive with learning and developing daily living skills. Working as a new graduate, engaged with diverse clients and collaborated with a team of other Occupational Therapists, assistants and students.
Had the privilege to provide assessments to evaluate the current abilities and to provide evidence-based interventions adapted for each child. During the nine months, the work promoted learning, developing and increasing knowledge to work with a broad scope of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Global Development Delay, Rare Genetic Diseases, and Non-Verbal and Learning Disabilities. Having strong communication and interpersonal skills, supported relationships with the children and their families and made a significant difference in their lives.
Excellent opportunities to provide care, to learn and to develop Occupational Therapist skills with the adult and geriatric population during the placements while completing university degree.
Had a lived experience: primary care of a physically disabled adult, looking after their ADLs and assisting with the implementation of the interventions presented.
My previous career was as a chef, which gave me the skills to work as part of a team, time management, planning and proficiency in the English language and communication. Maintaining health and safety practices was an essential part of my job.
