• Establish new relationships with world-leading scientists from Mater Research and with key medical professionals in oncology and neonatology across Mater’s 15 hospitals Queensland hospitals
• Source, create and deliver compelling multimedia patient stories to support marketing activities across a variety of lottery streams and corporate and community events and campaigns
• Partner with Mater Research’s scientific and research community to craft compelling cases for support, to support funding campaigns through Mater Foundation’s Philanthropic division
• Craft donor reports, to highlight the flow-on effects of fundraising on patients, families and staff

Manage a team of four to:

• Establish new and more effective working relationships between ERME and key stakeholders
• Develop proactive internal and external content strategies to positively influence and inform staff, patients, key stakeholders and the community
• Integrate communications across health, education, research and philanthropic divisions, and govern content consistency
• Measure, analyse and report communication campaign outcomes, in line with Mater Board and Executive’s strategic objectives
• Manage multiple tasks within established budgets and timeframes
• Provide proactive and reactive media and communications advisory to executive members, senior staff and colleagues as required
• Support the Director Corporate Communications and Engagement to achieve strategic and operational objectives

• Manage reactive media, as the key liaison between BCC’s Public Affairs Unit and the Lord Mayor’s Media Unit
• Provide critical and timely advice regarding the protection and enhancement of Council’s reputation, in line with stakeholder expectations
• Proactively identify issues arising within the organisation
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including the Lord Mayor’s Office and Council’s myriad program areas to source and provide complete, accurate, accountable and timely information, to support responses to political issues, media enquiries, social media commentary and other external pressures
• Support crisis communication within Council’s Disaster Operations
• Support the Editorial and Content team on proactive media opportunities
• Successfully pitch, design and roll out original stakeholder liaison training covering: news media for communication officers; media preparedness for potential program area spokespeople; handling difficult stakeholders for public-facing officers in higher-conflict program areas; identifying potential proactive media opportunities

• Develop communication strategies across external and internal environments, to enhance both public perception and internal cohesion
• Craft effective multi-channel communications to extract maximum value from every story opportunity
• Cultivate strong, trust-driven relationships with influential personnel across more than 40 health specialties, research areas and sub-groups, to bring together often conflicting agendas
• Develop respective, trust-driven relationships for collaboration with communication personnel across Metro North’s five hospitals, including Royal Brisbane and Women’s and The Prince Charles

• Advise to a diverse range of high-profile clients in crisis and emergency response, issues and reputation management, media relations strategy, media training and corporate communications
• Directly manage client relationships and leverage media to influence public discourse and policymakers
• Plan and implement media strategies
• Lead government and ministerial liaison to coordinate press and private events
• Lead community and stakeholder engagement – mapping, planning and implementation
• Build, protect and enhance public profiles for stakeholders
• Prepare extensive briefing documents for panel discussions, meetings and public events
• Write stakeholder speeches for events and public speaking engagements
• Identify key people of influence and activate pathways for direct and indirect connection
• Assist sponsorship and ambassadorial negotiations and activations
• Plan and lead events
• Secure editorial coverage, and write quality submissions for publication
• Represent clients at sanctioned events, to identify key guests of influence, and facilitate introductions and follow-up meetings
