Maha Salumi

I am a second year nursing student at Box Hill Institute. I have completed all of my previous placements, which includes aged care at Uniting AgeWell Strathdon Community, and SIA Burwood medical centre for 2 weeks, achieving 160 hours of placement in total last year. This hands-on experience has provided me with valuable skills in patient care, particularly in an aged care setting. I have developed a strong understanding of the unique needs of elderly patients and have improved my communication skills with both residents and their families. Additionally, I am familiar with common aged care procedures and protocols, and I am committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care. I also have hands-on experience with Clinical Information Systems such as Medical Director, Clinical Key, and documenting simple progress notes. My studies combined with my practical experience make me well-suited for a role in aged care.

I have experienced a variety of waitressing as my work history being a hardworking Waitress Trainee with proven relationship-building and time management skills in fast-paced restaurant environments. Successful at handling tables of all sizes with accuracy and impeccable service skills. Strives to meet customer needs, drive satisfaction and promote long-term loyalty.

I am a committed job seeker with a history of meeting company needs with consistent and organized practices. Skilled in working under pressure and adapting to new situations and challenges to best enhance the organizational brand. A graduate with excellent research, up to date, technical, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented and able to learn new concepts quickly.

• Travelling has always been a hobby of mine throughout my upbringing, visiting over 25+ countries. Exploring new locations and learning about different diverse culture whilst expanding my mindset in a positive setting.
• Playing Netball also expanded my team building exercises and communications skills throughout my 10 years of experience, starting the season from year 3 to post graduate. Working with a strong dedication and motivation used at a fast-pace environment in order to develop strong motor skills and improvements.

Participating in Girl Guides was to allow myself to be a team player and strive to achieve my goals. My 6 long years of experience was fantastic and eye opening, challenging myself whilst pushing myself to the limit. Seeking new obstacles to face for my future, being proactive in their community, learning about body confidence, Campaigning for the issues we care about, putting up a tent, performing in a play. Trying new things like canoeing, archery, money management etc. A sense of working through challenges and most importantly setting goals for the near future.
