  • I modify the curriculum to meet the needs of the child. Each child in my class has an individual learning plan because each child has a different learning style and learning needs.
  • I teach children with special needs from Year 5 to Year 12, with diverse disabilities, but most of the students are kids with autism diagnose with a mild symptom to severe conditions.
  • I have built a strong bond and positive relationship with my students, their parents, and the staff, as well as the principal.
  • I co-teach with five teachers; we all play an important role in all the children's lives: physical, mental, and emotional. Monitor their learning abilities based on student needs.
  • I observe every child to learn their weaknesses and focus on how to teach the kids to be able to live on their own when their parents die.
  • I organize a one-to-one meeting with parents once every term to talk about the child's progress and things that are needed for the parents to do at home, so that the child learns in both ways: not just in the classroom, but also to learn the same thing at home.
  • I participate in Teacher Plan Week, professional development for teachers, and workshops for autism and disabilities related to my field of teaching.
  • I make sure all children share equal learning materials, and I ensure that every child is safe and secure under my care until parents pick them up after school hours. When children eat, I assist them, when they play, I assist them, when they go to the toilet, I go with them: few of my students need special care in the toilet especially kids with ADHD and Cerebral Palsy which they still wear diaper to school.
