• Coombabah Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade QLD($160M)- Construction of New PTFC Preliminary Treatment Facility works included Earthworks , FRP and Pavements. ($7.5m)
• Coffs Harbour Bypass Upgrade NSW RMS($2.2 Billion)Bridge, Culvert and Retaining Wall FRP Package including minor Earthworks package($32M).
• Palm Beach M1 Upgrade DTMR ($570M) - Bridge, Culvert and Retaining Wall FRP Package including minor Earthworks package($13M).
• Carmichael Rail Network QLD ($400M)-FRP works for four rail bridges, installation of 2km of precast Girders and construction of 17 drainage structures including earthworks. Works includes ongoing maintenance of Mine and Rail Networks. ($28M).
• Exit 49 Pimpama Upgrade QLD DTMR ($120M)- Construction of New 2 Span Over Pass Bridge over live M1. Package included Culvert FRP and Earthworks Package ($9M)
• Douglas Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Townsville QLD ($40M)-Construction of 2 Lamella Concrete Treatment Tanks.($7.5M)
• Cooroy to Curra QLD DTMR– Section D ($500M) -Construction of 7 Super T Road Bridge Structures ($15M)
• Townsville Northern Access Upgrade QLD DTMR($140M) Excavation and Construction of 53 RCBC and 10 RCP culverts. ($7M)
• Burleigh Waters Deodar Drive Upgrade QLD- Stormwater Upgrade Project which included excavation and FRP of large stormwater pits including Pipe laying - ($4.0M)

• Construction of 2 New Interchange Road Bridges and Retaining Walls built over the live motorway utilising bored piles and Super T Girders
• Demolition of the two existing interchange bridges over the M1 using conventional mechanical demolition.
• Public Utility Plant (PUP) protection, relocation and coordination.
• Major Cross Drainage and longitudinal drainage
• Various soil nail walls & retaining walls
• Provision for future ITS installation (Variable Speed Limit Signs)
• Temporary works to facilitate construction, Including TTM design and implementation, temporary pavements, temporary retaining structures including crane/piling pads etc

Project:M2VL | Mudgeeraba, QLD DTMR ($170M)

• Construction of 2 road bridges over water.
• Construction of 1 road bridge over road – this was the highly relevant Stapley Drive Bridge (four-span bridge at 97.3m long x 27m wide, built over the live M1 motorway).
• Construction of 7 new Concrete Retaining Walls with the main wall RW-07 constructed between Rail Corridor and Existing M1 which included bored piles.
• Demolition of the two road bridges over creeks using conventional mechanical demolition.
• Demolition of the Stapley Drive Bridge (two-span bridge) using conventional mechanical demolition. Involved in the re-sequencing of the construction of new Stapley Drive Bridge and M1 traffic staging to enable offline demolition of the existing Stapley Drive Bridge which was originally planned for demolition over live M1 Motorway

Responsibilities:

• Provided technical expertise throughout all phases of the project, ensuring accurate execution of designs and specifications.

Project:W2B Section 3 Bridges Woolgoolga to Ballina RMS -($70M)

• Managed the construction of 7 twin- Super T Bridges simultaneously. These bridges were self-performed.
• Management of precast supply and delivery for 36 bridges which included Prestressed Girders & Deck Units, Precast Parapets and Headstocks.
• Assist with developed and implemented overall construction staging, planning and the Master Program.
• Assist with preparation of all the major lift studies for all critical lifts while on the project.
• Nominated Project Crane Appointed Person and Crane Supervisor to review Lift Study’s and Supervise critical crane lifts.

• Provided technical expertise throughout all phases of the project, ensuring accurate execution of designs and specifications.
• Maintained records for each project and engineering discipline.

• Managed two Prestress Bridge construction teams and maintenance staff of 60-70 employees.
• My managing role was hands on, due to staff inexperience and given the substantial expansion of the plant.
• Oversaw concrete pouring/ finishing/ repairing, concrete pipe laying/ joining from 225mm -3000mm diameter, concrete cutting/ drilling, welding reinforcement (mig/tig) and fabrication of steel components to Australian Standards/TMR&RMS specifications. Proficient in operation of prestressed concrete stressing beds.

Key Achievements:

• Successfully delivered over 4,000 prestress bridge beams for Hay Point Expansion on time and on budget.
• Successfully Project Manage delivery of plant expansion on time and on budget.

Lessons Learned:

• Due to the mining boom in Mackay staff availability was extremely difficult to manage as the company struggled to compete with salaries that mining companies were offering. Learned the value of having long term employees within the team.
• Learnt the importance of having the correct blend of experienced employees with new employees.
