Work History
Store Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Curtin/Chisholm, ACT
03.2022 - Current
Reporting to the Regional Manager, I am responsible for the day to day running of a multi-million dollar store
My focus in this role is to achieve key commercial targets and provide exceptional customer service by developing and delivering the store retail plan
As a Store Manager I am at the forefront of the business and a highly experienced retail professional, accountable for all aspects of my store/team and customer
Most importantly I not only coached but engaged my management team and led them to success with delivery many KPIs including but not limited to Sales, Safety and Profit
After 9 months my success was confirmed as I was promoted to a larger store that was known to have some difficulties and my Regional Manager needed someone 'firm but fair' to lead them to success
Moving into the SM role was a massive achievement for me personally and professionally, as I was a single mum of twins, I had no family support as they lived 2 hours away, I had worked my way up from the bottom completing all the roles along the way to better understand how to eventually run a store successfully and I made it
Store Support Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Chisholm/Jamison, ACT
01.2019 - 01.2022
Working closely with and reporting directly to the Store Manager, I supported with all audit, operational and people aspects of the store
I took pride in contributing to a store which was exceptionally presented, welcoming and engaging for the customers, team and community
This role was a key steppingstone in my career and an excellent opportunity I was offered and my success was proven in then getting another promotion after I had completed my learnings in this role
SSM was a hard change as I didn't oversee one department, I was overseeing Managers who were leading team to deliver a sound department
Grocery Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Kaleen, ACT
01.2018 - 01.2019
Reporting to the Store Manager and leading a team of night fillers and day inventory scanners, I had full accountability for the day-to-day running of the Grocery department which consists of all the non-fresh(chilled) products in store
I took on this role as a stepping stone as well to becoming one day a Store Manager and delivered daily a successfully presented/running department
This role was the most physical out of all roles over the 10 years I have given Coles, but also the most beneficial as it made it easier to manage when I grew the ladder when I had completed the roles myself, and I found the team/managers respected me when I gave direction etc
Delicatessen Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Kaleen, ACT
01.2017 - 01.2018
Reporting to the SSM and SM I had full accountability for the day-to-day running of the Deli department
I lead a small team between 5 to 10 in not only a fast-paced environment but also customer faced, always delivering an outstanding shopping experience for the customer and team
This role was my hardest mentally, I had just returned from maternity leave after taking a few months off to have my twins, but eager to return I agreed to take on the new role when offered the challenge, even though I knew nothing and had no training
I was offered a promotion only after a year and I accepted and stepped up into a new role within the same store
Bakery Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Manuka/Curtin, ACT
01.2015 - 01.2016
Reporting to the SSM and SM I had full accountability for the day-to-day running of the bakery department
Directly and indirectly, I led, coached and developed my team to meet sales targets, control costs, meet rostering requirements, all while maintaining excellent department standards, including monitoring stock, rotation routines, wastage, shrinkage and quality control of all freshly baked products
To better perform this role, I completed a Skilled Bakers course to be able to not only coach my bakers on delivering a great product for our customer but also support bake when needed to support customer demand
Customer Service Manager
Coles Supermarkets
Chisholm, ACT
01.2013 - 01.2015
Reporting to SSM or SM I oversaw all the operations at the front of the shop, including all cash handling, phone calls and complaints all while maintaining excellent customer service through all registers, assisted checkouts and most importantly keeping them clear, clean and safe for all my team and customers
This was my favourite role as I got to interact with team and customer all day every day and share a laugh or two and really get to know them
