Looking after International horses entering Australia.
The PEQ is 14 days, and during this time, I not only performed normal daily duties involving handling and presentation but also assisted in veterinary work when necessary. The position requires a confident, practical, and empathetic approach to horse handling and care.
In this position, I was responsible for recording all vet and charges for Thoroughbreds at Chatswood Stud.
During the breeding season, I would coordinate the covers of stallions to stud and client mares depending on the information I received from the vets on a morning basis. This information was in the form of vet sheets compiling scan results.
My position also involved liaising with staff, clients and contractors.
In the busier times, I would also perform hands-on assistance, mainly in the yearling barn.
