Hey there! My names Mitch Hammond and I've spent the past 15 years developing people, building communities and championing causes that create impact.
I have worked in the education, social services, not for profit, local government and tech sectors - all in the pursuit of connecting people to people and people to purpose.
Below is an outline of my past experiences and hopefully a small glimpse into how I could bring value to your team.
Red Frogs is one of the largest harm prevention support networks for youth and young adults in Australia. A key part of my role is to develop new volunteer partnership opportunities across NSW. I am also a lead writer and facilitator for our national education programs in universities and high schools - delivering content on leadership, cohesive teamwork, conflict management, healthy lifestyles and party culture.
For 15 years I have been an ordained pastor at C3 Church. Over that time I have held numerous portfolios and positions including youth programs, leadership development and training, community outreach and digital engagement.
After 12 months at IJM, I transitioned from my role as partnerships manager to a more specialised role in partnership acquisition and activation. I was specifically tasked with the goal of engaging and developing new partnership opportunities in the Australian faith based sector.
International Justice Mission is the global leader in protecting the world's poorest people from violence in the developing world. Our global team is at work in over 25 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America. Together we are catalysing a global movement that will rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice for people in poverty unstoppable. My primary function is to establish, cultivate and extend IJM's large, growing network of partnerships and to mobilise organisational leaders to seek unity around the topic of justice.
For 3 years I was the Australian Representative for YouVersion, one of the original 100 apps on the Apple App store, now with more than 500 million downloads and hundreds of content contributors. The organisation is based in Oklahoma, therefore most content has been from organisations in the USA. My main objective was to develop a local base of Australian content, of which there is now over 50 regular contributors, we have just reached 1 million subscribers to all Australian content.
For 10 months I worked as the NSW Partnerships Manager for Bible Society Australia. I came on during a period of nationwide organisational transition, after BSA had celebrated their 200 year anniversary. In my short time in this role I formed a number of significant relationships before being asked to take on a national role representing YouVersion Bible App.
I worked alongside a team of counsellors and phycologists to provide pastoral care and support to high school students. Part of my role was to organise and run daily chapel services, develop student leadership programs and coordinate school wide fundraising campaigns for external NFP organisations.
I was part of the youth services team that facilitated various youth programs for the youth of the Mosman LGA.
I worked for 2 years teaching debating to students in grades 5 and 6. Primarily focusing on building confidence, public speaking techniques and how to construct convincing arguments.
For three years (while studying) I was a youth worker with disadvantaged kids across Sydney. My role was to provide direct care and mentoring to young people, facilitation of program activities, development, supervision, and promotion of a safe environment.
