Work History

Volunteer

Junction Community Center
08.2023 - Current
  • Facility Maintenance and Handyman Duties: I have actively engaged in maintenance of community centre by performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping floors and cleaning tables. Alongside general cleaning, I have taken on various odd jobs such as sorting and cutting cardboard boxes, rubbish cleanup and miscellaneous repairs, to maintain centre's functionality.
  • Customer Interaction: A crucial aspect of my role has been interacting with community centre patrons, addressing their needs, and providing assistance with a friendly and helpful demeanor. This has also involved dealing with individuals with unpredictable or mental health challenges, requiring patience and empathy. An important skill in providing a warm and welcoming customer interaction is understanding how to communicate with those with impaired English skills and how to make them feel understood and appreciated.
  • Managing and Displaying Donated Products: By volunteering I have gained experience of receiving donated goods, filtering what can be used and displaying goods in a presentable orderly manner so that the next person can use them just the way they were made.
  • Ozharvest Responsibilities: Transportation of products. Collaborating with team members to determine the quantity of products that are to be bundled based on expected demand and supply. Presenting products in an appealing manner, ensuring that patrons feel valued and conformable in their interactions. I strive to make every visitor feel welcome and cared for during their time at the facility.

Additional Information

My University status and a project I am proud of:

My University status, now and future:

Although I have been in university, I am not currently. I have deferred until the beginning of MARCH NEXT YEAR and following that I will only be taking two courses from march until august (in that time period I will be working).

Following august 2024 I could take 4 courses but would much rather take 2. I am uncertain what I will do and will take time to decide.

The project demonstrates my python coding knowledge. The project is on a topic my physics lab instructor brought to my attention which uses the same process as (the greatest physics achievement of the last 20 years) the famous 2012 proof of the Higgs boson to prove the exist of the Z+ boson. I am extremely proud of this project, I went well above what was asked and achieved a high distinction in university. The link below allows you to see the code and what happens when you run it.
