I have completed my PhD in Agronomy at La Trobe University. I studied the efficiency of nitrogen fertiliser applied to dryland crops. I showed that immobilisation of nitrogen by soil microorganisms was the greatest source of inefficiency and deep placement of nitrogen improved crop recovery. My findings provided knowledge of management factors to reduce immobilisation and increase crop nitrogen uptake. I have work experience in the glasshouse and conducted few field trials at Birchip and Horsham in Victoria, Australia. I was working on wheat and canola during my PhD. I am also very professional working with APSIM. As a research agronomist I am interested in improving nitrogen use efficiency in the soil and crop systems, using technology to better crop management and crop physiology.
