Critical Risk Management Team - Mechanical Authorised Officer

  • In conjunction with the system/equipment owner, confirm electrical/mechanical isolation requirements
  • Understand testing procedures and be competent in the use of testing equipment
  • Assess and approve all activities where hazardous energy may be present and issue permit to work
  • Attend the worksite and verify all isolations are complete
  • Identify instances of incomplete isolations, detached or missing physical locking devices, report findings to the Critical Risk Management Coordinator, system/equipment owner, and enter in the Event Management System (EMS) or equivalent
  • Complete personal danger tags, record details of their personal danger tags in accordance with system/equipment owners’ processes and place at point(s) where isolations and master tags are applied
  • On completion of the activity, attend and inspect the workplace; if safe to do so, ensure personal danger tags are removed from isolation points; ensure relevant Danger tag log is updated and close Permit to Work
  • Conduct equipment inspections
  • Liaise with client to prioritise scheduling of isolations
  • Conduct High Risk tasks within scope of High-Risk Work Licence
  • Assist in WHS consultation by providing feedback through Pre-Start meetings, Toolbox Talks and Safety Stand-downs
  • Comply with Client and Site requirements as detailed in Client Inductions, Site Inductions and as directed by Client Safety Officers.
