Grade Controller

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the achievement of a positive safety, community and environmental reputation and culture
  • Execute the three-month short-term plan at a daily level
  • Manage the stockpile inventory tonnes and grades at the Wagerup refinery
  • Liaise with team members including registered manager, superintendents, engineers, surveyors, mine coordinators, drill & blast supervisors, fixed plant personnel and production supervisors to determine and achieve short and long-term business plan objectives

Achievements:

  • 'Stop for Safety' award August 2024
  • Created and implemented the stockpile reconciliation process
  • Produced and formalised key grade control working procedures.

Senior Mine Geologist

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the achievement of a positive safety, community and environmental reputation and culture
  • Manage the site's grade control and support the operation in delivering all aspects of mine geology to Atlas standards
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Atlas geologists, the Mt Webber team (including contractors) and the wider Atlas business in all aspects of Atlas geological process
  • Manage the drilling, mining, crushing, haulage and laboratory contractors to ensure they are meeting safety standards and adhering to the business plan

Achievements:

Initiated a process to identify and stockpile material just below the ore/waste cut-off grade ('mineralised waste'). Atlas Iron found customers for this mineralised waste and the process was integrated into the company's business plan, increasing the company's annual revenue.
