- OT intake for new hands/upper limb patients (short stay, M7, 6A, 3A) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hand therapy, fabricate basic splints (mallet, barrel, volar) with Home exercise program, Coban, compression and outpatient referrals if indicated.

- Breast: typically review ~3-5/7 post op for functional review and education re: breast precautions and loan of equipment if needed.

ENT

Compression: Chin straps to be fitted on day 7 post-external skin flap (not muscle flaps). They can be found in the box under the 6A OT desk. Contact lymphedema OT, Mel Thorne, if any concerns.

APOC Clinic on Thursdays. All complex ENT Pt’s pre-op are seen to gain collateral, complete cognitive screen and take head/ \neck measurements.

Urololgy: discharge planning complex discharges to rural/interstate

Neck dissection/Lymphoedema: education regarding lymphoedema, scar management, lymphatic drainage massage.

-7 day week OT service and Transprofessional practice to patients in Emergency department using advanced Occupational therapy clinical practice skills

- OT specific role within ED in areas of Westmead PTA assessment and discharge planning, digit splinting, cognitive assessment, wheelchair discharges and complex discharge planning.

-Provided leave relief cover in acute medical and surgical wards at FSH and FHHS, leave cover in State rehab services as indicated. Home visiting services as indicated

-Acute Medical Unit, Acute Neurology, Oncology and Haematology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, and Burns unit.

- Caseloads covered in State Rehabilitation Services include Acquired Brain Injury, Neurology, Multi Trauma, Amputee and Spinal rehabilitation services.

This includes functional assessment and retraining in personal care/domestic ADLs, provision of equipment, education and recommendations to optimally perform functional tasks in the home environment.

- Experienced in completing falls assessments using HomeFast - Home Falls and Accident Screening Tool and provision of best practice guidelines prevention strategies.

- Competent in assessments for basic and complex access ramps, platforms steps and grab rails.

- Experienced in management of E-referral systems to triage and complete HV referrals.

- Proficient in completing referral job sheets to carpenters for home modifications and onward community

e-referrals (RITH/CHOICE/Social worker) if indicated.

- Currently developing Quality Improvement project to review the effectiveness of FSH Home Visiting recommendations with patients who transitioned across to community-based rehabilitation services.
