During my placement in an aged care facility, I performed a range of duties under the supervision of qualified staff. These tasks supported the wellbeing, safety, and daily functioning of residents while helping me develop practical skills aligned with the requirements of Certificate IV in Ageing Support.

My responsibilities included:

• Providing Person-Centred Care: Together with a regular staff, assisted residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility while respecting their dignity, independence, and personal preferences.
• Supporting Mealtime Activities: Helped staff in serving meals.
• Monitoring Resident Wellbeing: Observing and reporting changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to senior staff, including signs of discomfort, pain, altered behaviour, or health concerns.
• Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensuring living areas were clean, safe, and hazard-free
• following safe manual-handling procedures to support residents with mobility and transfer in bed or in their own special chair.
• Encouraging Social Engagement: Supporting residents to participate in leisure activities, conversations, and group programs to promote emotional wellbeing and social inclusion.
• Infection Prevention and Control practices: Following hand hygiene, PPE, waste disposal, and cleaning protocols to reduce the risk of infection and maintain a safe environment.
• Respecting Cultural and Individual Needs: Providing inclusive care that considers cultural backgrounds, preferences, routines, and personal values of residents.
• Worked collaboratively with AINs, nurses, and supervisors.
• Maintained privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Informal Experience: Assisted elderly family member(grand father) with daily activities like, provided emotional support and companionship, helped maintain a safe home environment.

• Provided exceptional customer service to enhance guest experience in gaming areas.
• Monitored gaming equipment for functionality, reporting any issues promptly.
• Assisted guests with inquiries and ensured compliance with gaming regulations.
• Recognised with an Excellent Customer Service Award through mystery shopper evaluation.
