  • Identifying, collecting and analyzing samples from patients with myeloid blood cancers such as
    acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and myeloproliferative
    neoplasms (MPN) and infected mouse samples for AML and MPN research study in support of
    life scientists and other junior scientists.
  • Provide help with designing and performing experiments for understanding how
    leukemia stem cells in AML and MPN are able to regenerate leukemia (or cause relapse in
    patients), even after cytotoxic chemotherapy.
  • Assisting in maintaining mouse colonies and maintaining leukemic cell lines for all laboratory experiments, and also provide technical support to help with research planning and design.
  • Reviewing Institute-wide research project applications submitted by Personal Investigators/Researchers for approval within the Institute via an in-house developed software, in order to carry to their research work in the Institute.
  • Assisting with Animal Ethics (AEC) and Human Research Ethics (HREC) submissions.
  • Prioritizing projects and assignments assigned by senior scientists to complete research objectives on time.
  • Assist in production of research reports, articles for peer-reviewed journals and also support with creation of project objectives, proposals and budgets to meet funding criteria.
  • Perform statistical, qualitative and quantitative analysis and presenting experimental data in weekly meetings.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to identify relevant questions and determine best methods of approach.
  • Training students, researchers and laboratory visitors in immunological laboratory assays and other animal procedures.
  • Liaising with collaborative labs to learn new techniques and helping junior scientists with their experimental designs.
  • Managing lab supply orders along with maintenance and requisition for timely service of lab equipments.
