Originally from the O2 Networks team, I started as a senior security consultant and moved up to Managing Security Consultant, at which point I was the team leader for security consultants and architects in NSW.


Key duties and achievements:

  • I led complex network security projects and pre-sales engagements with technologies such as Next Generation Firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), CASB (Cloud Access Solution Broker) as well as reporting and visibility systems.
  • Designed and implemented solutions with firewall, CASB, Identity and Access Management, Splunk and Network Access control (NAC).
  • DEveloped and assisted organisations to mature their security posture via well-known practices and security architecture frameworks such as SABSA.
  • Developed customised documentation for technical solutions: High Level Solution architecture, Detailed Design, As-built, Implementation Plan, Test Plan, Operational Procedures amongst other custom documentation.

  • I coordinated, led, and implemented critical security solutions as well as accounted for day-to-day operations of the Internet and DMZ infrastructure, managing, and securing Leighton Contractors’ network perimeter, datacentres, and LAN segments.


  • Main projects and duties: Managed the corporate perimeter infrastructure - Firewalls, DMZ infrastructure and Internet access policies for over 10.000 employees.
  • Vendors: Checkpoint, Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, Citrix Netscaler load balancers.

The network and security team at AEMO hired me on a short-term contract as they required an IT expert to be able to hit the ground running with a minimal supervision and training required

  • Configured and installed Cisco Routers and Switches, Access Control Server (ACS), Ciscoworks and Proxy services.
  • Managed datacenter infrastructure.
  • Performed documentation updates (diagrams, procedures, and control spreadsheets).

  • Claro is the Brazilian operations of Americel/Telmex, being the third biggest Brazilian mobile telecommunication operator, with revenues in excess of U$ 9.5 billion, 22,000 employees and 58 million customers
  • At this position I had an extensive participation in the company’s main datacenter migration, which contributed to increase the network availability from 95.5% to 99.9%
  • During this project I was responsible for designing the Layer 2 and 3 networks, implementing, and configuring firewalls, switches and routers, as well as producing the network documentation
  • Besides the datacenter migration, during almost 3 years in the company my main role was to manage an IP network with over than 300 WAN sites with the following main duties: Implemented and troubleshooted site-to-site VPNs, access-lists rules issues, new interfaces (DMZs) and failover redundancy in Cisco (ASA, PIX and FWSM) and Checkpoint firewalls
  • Designed and implemented LAN segmentation through DMZs and VLANs
  • Implemented Cisco Switches and Routers at the company’s main datacenter, Headquarter and offices
  • Implemented and supported routing protocols such as OSPF, RIP, BGP and EIGRP
  • Configured and supported Load Balancers (Layer 3 and Layer 7)
