Lead and manage a regional team to achieve successful outcomes in the co-ordination and implementation of Sport and Recreation products and services.

Provide strategic advice to the Service Area Manager, Executive and Senior Managers within Sport and Recreation on complex issues, to contribute to the development of policy and programs related to sport and recreation issues and projects.

• Identify, gather and document service area issues and trends to contribute towards the development and continuous improvement of products and services.
• Work collaboratively to formulate local solutions that target disadvantaged clients and promote social cohesion in a sport and active recreation environment.

• Develop enduring service delivery partnerships to enhance cross-sectoral participation, training and development, and the delivery and co-ordination of sport and recreation products and services.

• Apply initiative and exercise significant levels of independent judgement in solving urgent and emerging issues with limited direction to ensure products and services meet the needs of the community at a service area level and in accordance with the department’s and Government priorities.
• Oversee the preparation of complex briefs, reports and submissions relevant to the co-ordination and implementation of Sport and Recreation products and services across the service area.
• Manage the implementation of strategic and operational activities to enhance service delivery capacity across programs and services, including contract and project management of complex infrastructure and physical activity projects across the region.
• Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and are a part of day to day operations.

Led and managed the Products and Services team to support the Sport and Recreation Leadership Team in leading the establishment of a portfolio management function to provide governance and oversight of a portfolio of work to implementation of the Activate! Strategy 2019-2029.

Led and managed a multidisciplinary team to achieve successful outcomes in the development and delivery of Sport and Recreation programs which supported capacity building of all levels of the sport and recreation industry across Queensland.

• Developed and implemented effective business processes to ensure programs were well-designed and appropriately documented, communicated (internally and externally), reviewed and analysed.
• Developed, influenced and managed relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, to ensure programs met their needs. Led the concept development of the new First Nations funding programs (First Nations Sport and Recreation Program and Deadly Active Program).
• Effectively managed programs with project management methodologies at a high level to support relevant government priorities, strategic direction, stakeholder and client expectations. Applied this by leading the Indigenous Community Sport and Recreation Program (ICSRP) and the FairPlay Program. I also managed Building Active Communities Workshops program (BACW) and Get Active Queensland Accreditation Program (GAQAP).
• Undertook complex business analysis and reporting functions for the team, including urgent requests for program information from across the department.
• Researched and prepared proposals, project plans, recommendations, submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature.
• Continuously improved the program’s services to its stakeholders by providing high level customer service.
• Provided professional, expert and timely advice to colleagues and senior management to inform strategy, direction and generation of solutions to complex problems.

Provided strategic advice to the Regional Manager, Brisbane Region, primarily on research and industry development issues impacting on the sport and recreation portfolio. Managed teams in the implementation of sport and recreation programs and services to regional clients.

• Led regional projects teams (Brisbane Region Lead for Get Playing Places and Spaces and co-led Female Facilities Program) and undertook project management responsibilities, research, analysis and evaluation on regional issues, needs and priorities for the development and implementation of sport and recreation programs and services;
• Prepared complex reports, submissions, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence related to sport and recreation development in the region;
• Organised, delivered and evaluated training of and mentoring regional staff on a range of general and specific regional issues including programs, sport and recreation, facility management and organisational governance;
• Developed and maintained strong internal and external professional relationships, networks and partnerships with key stakeholders such as Brisbane City Council, other State Government departments, Indigenous organisations, and sport and recreation associations and worked collaboratively and in partnership with these stakeholders on key regional initiatives; Consulted with clients to identify program opportunities for community groups and organisations and provided assistance in relation to funding applications and referral to other agencies;
• Monitored progress against key organisation performance indicators which measure success in achieving Government priorities and outcomes

Provided advice to regional clients and delivered a range of initiatives and funding programs targeted towards specific client groups including local governments, sport and recreation clubs and indigenous organisations.

• Supported more than 15 clubs and 3 regional associations located from Beenleigh to Gympie in club management, volunteer management, governance, funding, facility development, club promotion and related education working within the structure and policies of Baseball Queensland to increase the capacity of their clubs to deliver the sport effectively to members.
• Responsible for developing and implementing a club support website, suite of support resources for baseball clubs in Qld, addressing various issues across all organisations under my role including assisting the update and renewal of club constitutions and successful introduction of volunteer reward schemes in several.
