Work History

Composite Technician/Fabricator

Zone RV
Sunshine Coast, QLD
05.2023 - 03.2024

After moving to the Sunshine coast at the end of 2022, I wanted to do something different, which led me to Zone RV, in there composites division. Prior to my employment I was working on a canopy for my truck as there was nothing on the market that would suit. Needing more knowledge and experience, I applied for a job at Zone RV as they have the facilities, equipment and knowledge that I needed. I was upfront and honest with my intentions and they were happy to take me on. Fast forward 12 months and we have just produced a prototype carbon-firbe canopy.

Carpenter

Self employed/contractor
Canberra, ACT
09.2020 - 12.2022

The decision to go out on my own was a lifestyle choice, having had a very adventurous life already I wanted the flexibility to enjoy life a little more. I contracted to one builder who works on his own and specializes in composite decks, pergolas, renovations and extensions. As a team of 2, our communication and teamwork had to be outstanding as there was no one else to pick up the slack.

During this time I only worked 3-4 days per week giving me the time to study and pursue other goals on my days off.

Estimator/manager

Hawker Roofing
Canberra, ACT
01.2019 - 06.2020

On returning home from the army I began working in the family business. I had to start at the bottom to understand all the roles and positions, however my main role was estimating, managing employees and trades, and organizing overtime. In the end I had to leave because I wanted to forge my own path and not take the easy option.

ADF ARMY - Sniper Team

ADF
Townsville, QLD
07.2014 - 12.2018

My military career began 5 days after the completion of my apprenticeship, following in my grandfathers footsteps. In my short career I'm very proud of my achievements and something I look back fondly on. My time in the military amplified skills and traits I already possessed and taught me many new skills aswell.

Due to my work ethic when arriving at my unit I was the most junior solider to be given a specialist role and finished 2nd in order of merit. During my career I finished with multiple specialists roles ultimately finishing my career as part of a sniper team. This was only possible because of my ambition and need to always be learning.

Achievements;

-Qualified Assault pioneers finished 2nd in order of merit

-Deployed Iraq 2017

-Qualified Sniper and joined the teams 2018

Carpenter Apprentice

Brother Projects
Canberra, ACT
10.2009 - 06.2014

Brother projects specialize in high end renovations and custom built homes working in some of the most prestigious suburbs. I was fortunate enough to carry out my apprenticeship and be taught by this highly sought after team. Learning important lessons that I wouldn't have learnt from other builders.

-Attention to detail

-Work ethic, punctuality and time management

-Maintaining professionalism and manners when dealing with clients

-Working in small teams

Farm Hand

Neanger Park Stud (Family farm)
Mrrumbateman, NSW
06.2006 - 06.2013

During my early teenage years I never had a traditional job working hospitality, however I was fortunate enough to spend my time working on our family's cattle farm. Learning many lessons that I would not have learnt anywhere else. Some of the work that I would carry out would be;

  • Cared for livestock, including feeding, watering, and observing medical treatment.
  • Inspected fields regularly to identify pests or diseases that may harm crop growth.
  • Applied fertilizers and pesticides according to instructions in order to maximize crop yield.
  • Performed general maintenance tasks around the farm, including repairing fences and buildings.
  • Loaded and unloaded trucks with supplies or products from the farm.
  • Cleaned out barns, stalls, pens, and other animal enclosures on a regular basis.
  • Repaired buildings, fences and other pertinent structures to keep animals properly contained.
  • Assisted with maintenance and repair activities to keep buildings and equipment in safe and proper condition.
